June always loved dancing. And singing and baking and walking and running and parties. She loved a party!
So when she was sadly diagnosed with dementia, her loving daughter Jules was determined that all of these things would remain a big part of her life.
Music was a constant in the family house. Whether it was watching their favourite musicals (which June and hubbie Mick loved) or simply dancing round the lounge to Sinatra – she was in her element.
Their favourite film was the Pyjama Game but anything with glamour and Hollywood style and they were there for the ride.
Why The Great British Bake off never signed up June to take over from Mary Berry, we’ll never know. Queen of the sponge cake, she loved being covered in flour and concocting another sweet treat.
Jules is so happy that her mum and dad never stopped loving life, even as dementia took its toll. She’ll never forget the smile on June’s face as she watched (another of her favourite movies) Cinderella and slipped off peacefully to a better place on Valentine’s Day.
A life of fun. A life lived well.
